Spring is in the air

I guess this is becoming a "once a week" blog. I really thought i had soo much to say and share but as it turns out, i don't have enough time! Last Thursday I was busy preparing items for our booth at the monthly Bodega at Studio 900
My daughter and i have a little home business called Mt Lemmon Underground. We specialize in redesigning vintage clothing and accessories. It's starting to catch on here and most people love the concept. Marissa linked up with her friend who is the organizer of the monthly event and it is fast becoming a hip yet indie thing to do on a otherwise boring Thursday night. So I was roped into working our booth since my daughter went to work the American Apparel Tent at SXSW. I really look forward to showing our designs off to young people and i value their response. I made a "before and after" photo book showing how a piece looked prior to us re designing it. Most people are amazed at the transformation. Here is an example of a before and after:

I call this 70's Art Nouveau. It has that look. The hard part is figuring out what potential the original item has, when it's original form is so uninspiring. Sometimes that is the longest process. I'll be posting other before and after's in future blogs.

As spring is here, we are looking forward to joining as vendors several festivals, the Kirkwood Fling is May 15th, 2010 and then the Reynoldstown Wheelbarrow Fesival is June 12,2010. Hope to see you at either or both of these events. Until next time..........Ciao!
